description In the present investigation it has been foreseen to develop pathogenetically founded methods of the chronic pain syndrome relief in patients with disseminated prostate cancer. 47 men with the prostate cancer of III—IV stage have been examined and treated. It has been stated that either a long-term epidural sensory block created with hydrochloride morphine or anekaine, or an intrathecal hormonotherapy with synesthrol and hydrocortisone had significantly decreased the pain syndrome and the level of prostatespecific antigen in blood serum, had significantly improved the urodynamics increasing an average and maximum rate of urine flow and urine volume, reducing the time of urination, and had improved the patients’ life quality by 17—30%.
