description Results of studies about the effect of impact loads generated by detonation energy of an explosive substance on Hadfield steel hardening are shown. The behavior of mechanical and functional properties of this material related to explosive hardening parameters is evaluated. The technological procedure of hardening mining work pieces manufactured of Hadfield steel was established using an energy source technically feasible and economically rational. Results constitute an important contribution for understanding the behavior of high manganese austenitic steel, type Hadfield for explosive loads and at the same time they offer encouraging perspectives for their application in the industrial sector.
