description Abstract The resource outlines a multi-dimensional palliative care training experience for third-year medical students during a month long ambulatory internal medicine rotation. The educational plan includes a clinical experience and patient care assessment; self-study through the use of a resource information booklet; a take-home exam that surveys knowledge, self-confidence, and concerns; a small group workshop; and a self-reflection essay. Students were also asked to evaluate the experience after completion. This curriculum material has been in place for several years and is highly regarded by students as indicated by the number of requests for fourth-year one-month electives in palliative care.
