Summary:This note is dedicated to the centenary of Boris Vasilyevich Pavlovsky’s birth. He was a professor at Ural State University and founder of Ural Art Studies. A Dr. Hab. (Art Studies), corresponding member of the Academy of Arts of the USSR, and laureate of the State Prize of the RSFSR, he was the founder of the Department of History and Theory of Art at Ural State University. He contributed to the study of the fine arts and stone-cutting art of the Urals and to the scholarly activities of the Sverdlovsk Art Gallery.
