Description
Summary:Introduction In addition to advanced imaging techniques, scoring systems have been developed to facilitate and diagnose acute appendicitis. Scoring systems include variables elicited from previous patients, each of which is given a numerical value. The sum of these values is used to predict the likelihood of appendicitis and prevent delays in diagnosis. The Lintula scoring system is based on physical examination alone, with no laboratory testing. The objective of this study was to validate the Lintula score among patients with suspected appendicitis.
