description | The article examines the current state of information security and protection of the national information space of Ukraine against information aggression. Attention is drawn to the course of the hybrid war which the Russian Federation wages against the Ukrainian state, during which the Kremlin, through the media under Russian control, continually disseminates in the Ukrainian information space its narratives called to demoralize Ukrainian public in order to break its will to resist aggression. Attention is paid to the confrontation caused by the information aggression of the Russian Federation in the Ukrainian information space, in which Russia uses in the war with Ukraine and the world its latest weapon of mass destruction of great power - information. The negative informational influence which the Russian Federation makes on various social groups through various communication channels, and conducted with the help of fakes, distortion of facts, statements of pseudo-experts, which fit into a single concept of distortion and interpretation of phenomena, events and tendencies, is considered. Constant manipulation of public opinion concerns not only the military-political or economic plane, it touches almost all spheres of society. All this is done in order to find breaking points of public opinion and to polarize society around any problem, which makes a space for misinformation and subsequent negative information manipulation. Attention is paid to the development of operational means to counteract the Kremlin’s misinformation aggression as one of the main components of the current hybrid war in the context of strengthening information security, protecting the national information space of the state. The introduction of mechanisms to counteract negative information flows and the need to consolidate international efforts are analyzed. Relevant recommendations for improving the country’s information security protection system are reviewed and characterized. |
