description Study of the strangeness production in heavy-ion collisions is one of the most important parts of the physics program of the MPD experiment at the NICA collider. Therefore, the problem of a reliable and efficient reconstruction of strange objects should be addressed with a high priority during the preparation to the experiment. The paper describes the approach to this task which was developed and implemented as a part of the MPD software. Some results of its application during the detector Monte Carlo feasibility studies are presented.
