description The author of this article considers the ways in which of Orthodox parishes of two Deaneries (Kashirsky and Nikolsky areas) communicate with the environment. The author reveals the influence of a territorial factor and features of the environment on the parishes’ social activity and degree of activity and discusses the social communication between the parishes and the environment and population. We understand that parishes differ on structure, number of parishioners, social conditions, and have their own “kernel” and “periphery”. Therefore, we offer a typology of arrivals and model their communities. The current research is based on a case study of daily life occurrences in the parishes of the Kashirsky and Nikolsky Deaneries that was carried out in 2012 — 2013. The main methods involved included and disconnected supervision in the parishes and in-depth interviews with decent, priors, clergymen of temples and the most active parishioners. The article describes the everyday life of the parishes, their parishioners, and communications that arise at the arrival inside and with the environment and questions the role of Orthodox parishes in modern society as a conductor of communal communications and parishes’ social activities that help unprotected persons in society.
