Description
Summary:In this article we approach the way in which S. Freud was impelled to abandon the psychological realism whenapproaching the treatment of the hysteria. The concept of psychological realism according to epistemologist RobertBlanché is discussed. Next, we describe how Freud abandons the realistic conceptions on behalf of a search for theorigin of hysteria in the concept of fantasy (Phantasie). Finally, we stress the importance of the concept of fantasy, according to J. Lacan's Seminar on object-relationship, in order to avoid current attempts of reducing thepsychoanalytic view to new forms of psychological realism.
