Futuristic poetics minimized the connection with poetic descriptions of the city common for Pushkin's time (used by “traditionalists” of the 1910s, such as Modest Druzhinin) and neglected the centuries-old Odessa mythological allusions (inevitable Odysseus recalled by Gumilyov). |
