description "This article examines the theoretical principles of  the  international  competitiveness  of  nations  as  well as the main methodological principles of modern models of the international competitiveness of nations and regions. On  the  basis  of  quantitative  and  qualitative  indicators  the  author  analyzes  the  innovation  competitiveness  of Ukraine’s regions and suggests what principles can be applied  to  enhance  the  competitiveness  of  Ukraine’s  economy.  According  to  these  principles,  a  state  strategy  of enhancing  international  competitiveness  should  be  designed on the basis of the National Innovation System and operate at the regional and sectoral levels. "
