description Fallopian tube cancer is a rare entity and only a few case reports of Indian patients are available. It comprises <1% of all cancers of the female genital organs. Fallopian tube cancer and ovarian cancer share major characteristics, such as elevated CA-125 levels and the histopathology. The incidence of both types of cancer is higher among women with BRCA mutations. They are similar also in terms of the response to platinum-based chemotherapy. It is difficult to diagnose a case of primary fallopian tube cancer preoperatively, because the patient presents with non-specific symptoms and there is a lack of definite diagnostic criteria. Our patient presented to us 7 years after menopause with profuse blood-stained vaginal discharge, and the diagnosis of fallopian tube cancer was made only during laparotomy.
