Summary: | It is vital for any process that there is a mutual confidence between the parties, especially when we refer to mediation or other methods of disputes resolution. In recent years, several studies have carried out an analysis about the factors that determine the generation of confidence through the perception of the mediators or the parties involved in the case. This article offers the opportunity to broaden the analysis by including a gender perspective on the factors that predict the generation of confidence according to the perception of the people assisted by the Mediation Service of the Ministry of Social Services and Cooperation of the Government of the Balearic Islands (Spain), on the basis of a questionnaire on relationship of confidence in Family Mediation, designed by Dr. Riera. An analysis of the Significance of Fisher's Exact Test has shown that there are no significant differences due to responsibility between both groups. In other words, this chapter has not sufficiently demonstrated the distinction between the perception of people of the female and the male genders on the factors that predict the generation of confidence.
