Summary:The proposed writings is a methodological discussion of research in quality, supplemented by the application of statistical techniques in the analysis of individual influential factors, from the aspect of the need for continuous improvement of the quality of products and services. Quality research, structured by numerous internal factors, is observed in the environment of external factors that are grouped into units: company and management, national and international environment, creative industry. Quality is seen in the light of the knowledge, abilities and character of the individual in terms of the company organization, the business environment and the needs of society. The discussion attempts to contribute to the understanding and explanation of research methods in modern business. A view of the strategy of achieving competitiveness through quality is given. The place and role of the creative industry and higher education institutions is defined. It points to the existing projects to support the innovative approach in business. By applying quantitative methods (i.e. statistical techniques), the effectiveness of the product that is assessed by quality is analyzed.
