Summary: | Starting with the active character of attention, claimed by Merleau-Ponty as a bridging element between intellectualism and empiricism, the essay delves into the Husserlian roots of the dynamic and structuring concept of attention, emphasising the importance of affectivity on the one hand and the concept of the ‘implicit’ on the other. It is precisely the category of the implicit that will guide us in the analysis of corporeality, of the unconscious understood as the deep body (Thomas Fuchs). Starting with the subjective and drive body and its somatic ramifications, we intend to show how current phenomenological research can intersect with some of Freud’s psychophysiological considerations.
