Summary: | In this paper we show that, despite various modifications and clarifications of the classical theory of nucleation, it is far from matching the experimental and theoretical data. The main reason for this is due to not taking into account the size dependence of the surface tension of the emerging centers of crystallization. For many metals the critical radius of the homogeneous crystal formation were calculated. |
