Oral microbial extracellular DNA initiates periodontitis through gingival degradation by fibroblast-derived cathepsin K in mice
A highly sensitive imaging probe shows that oral microbial extracellular DNA triggers early activity of Ctsk in gingival fibroblasts, initiating periodontitis in mice.
