Description
Summary:Social expectations towards teachers are immense. Their responsibility is to create optimally favorable conditions to their pupils’ overall development. The present paper aims to discuss the teacher’s role in encouraging children’s participation in arts and technology classes at kindergarten level. Drawing on the constructivist assumptions, the author reveals some of the opportunities for supporting young learners in their artistic performance. Teachers are like gardeners caring for appropriate conditions in which pupils improve their abilities through play. The paper also presents an overview of methods (projects, unfinished drawings, puzzles, improvisations, free expression), owing to which preschoolers manage to do tasks on their own, thus developing their emancipatory competences. The paper ends with an enumeration of the most important conditions conducive to young learner active involvement in the aforementioned classes.
