Description
Summary:Developing a serious game requires a balance between the educational content to be assimilated and the fun aspect beneficial to learning. In addition to this duality, the game must provide a version of reality interspersed with fictional elements, so as to offer a realistic and attractive context in one go. The key to a successful serious game is its constant adaptation to the target audience. Our research focuses on the educational contributions of such an approach as well as on its limits. We propose a serious game prototype for young adults, aiming at the acquisition of French as a foreign language. We would like to demonstrate the educational added value of our product while keeping in mind its possible limits.
