Summary:Development of system of training and education of children with slow mental development is an actual problem of contemporary correctional pedagogics and psychology. Realization of unity of cognitive, educational and correctional objectives during training allows these pupils to seize knowledge and the skills stipulated by the program of a mass comprehensive school, more successfully to adapt for conditions of the surrounding natural and social world. Ecological education can act as one of directions of optimization the process of socialization of younger schoolchildren with slow mental activity.
