Summary:In this article we analyze the Food Acquisition Program (PAA), created in 2003 by the Federal Government within the scope of the Zero Hunger Program. We focus on the mode PAA-Milk, popularly termed as Alagoas Milk Program. At first we seek to make a historical analysis of PAA with respect to its operation and organization. Then we analyze the PAA-Milk more complex since its creation to finally highlight the major contributions / advances of this modality to strengthen family agriculture and food and nutrition security, and its main limitations in the state of Alagoas and as its production for economic and social development, particularly for regional Arapiraca Alagoas in the wild, which serves 13 counties, and is headquartered in the city of Arapiraca chain.
