Summary: | Neurological complications are frequently mentioned in the published reports regarding the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Especially encephalopathy draws attention as the leading symptom or complication of COVID-19 in some reports. This article discussed a 3-year-old patient with bilateral lentiform and caudate nuclei involvement on brain imaging, who presented with mental status changes and acute muscular weakness, possibly due to COVID-19. To the best of our knowledge, this case is the first one showing pathological signal enhancement and edema in bilateral lentiform and caudate nuclei associated with COVID-19. |
