Resumo:In the paper we intend to analyze how Romania fulfills the Maastricht criteria. As a basis of assessment, we have used the convergence reports from 2014 and 2016. Our conclusion is that while most of the convergence criteria are met by Romania, the target of 2019 is inoperable and the setting of another target must take into account, in addition to the convergence criteria and financial stability, also the structural competitiveness of the Romanian economy.
