description Stereotactic radiosurgery is one of the principle treatment options for small cerebral arteriovenous malformations, even in eloquent locations. Complete obliteration mainly depends on the applied single dose and treatment volume, although other potential factors may interfere. The risk of intracranial hemorrhage after radiosurgery is related to the obliteration status and depends on the size and volume of cerebral arteriovenous malformations. Radiosurgery has shown to be effective with minimum morbidity. According to appropriate criteria as far as characteristics of cerebral arteriovenous malformations are concerned, and, balancing dose prescription and optimum planning, radiosurgery results are undeniably encouraging.
