Description
Summary:The review analyses the latest publications on coffee consumption and cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk, CVD  complications, CVD risk factor (RF) levels, and Type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM-2) complications. Coffee did not  increase the risk of CVD and CVD complications, did not affect CVD RF levels, and reduced the risk of DM-2  complications. These positive effects of coffee consumption are explained by its beneficial influence on carbohydrate and lipid metabolism, oxidative stress, inflammation, and endothelial function.
