Summary:This work makes a survey about the institute of plea bargaining awarded under dialectical-historical-material methodology, both in Brazilian law and in comparative law. Directly linked with the improvement of the combat of States, in International treaties, in the fight against organized crime, a conceptualization of the institute, its importance as a tool of investigation of complex crimes, will be made, also exposing some criticisms necessary for the improvement Of the institute in the current Brazilian system. Likewise it will be an overview about the origins in the Anglo-Saxon law and the implications in the Brazilian criminal justice system of European-continental primary hue. The theme and its deepening is essential in the current scenario of Brazilian instability, in which the institute made it possible to bring to the lumen gigantic schemes of corruption in the political and business environment, primarily in the nicknamed Lava-Jato investigation.
