description | Human and technology interactions are two directional. A human makes use of the technology available, but the technology enhances human potential and creates opportunities for further development in the use of technology. This mutual influence will be presented on the example of the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in language learning and teaching LL&T. Both historical perspectives on CALL and the contemporary practices illustrate interrelations between material artefacts and their use for learning purposes in the multilingual reality of the Internet. The results of research on teachers of foreign languages show that material culture gives ground for social and pedagogical practices but human perceptions, opinions, and actions constitute the actual use of it. |
