Description
Summary:The article approaches the works of the famous American author Stephen King as a complex author’s universe, organized by the author’s philosophy, worldview, concepts and other features typical of this particular writer. One of the specific traits of S. King’s prose is the abundance of proper names, especially the so-called «advertising names» which serve to create a credible fiction reality as a background for a «fantastical assumption». The analysis of «Just after Sunset» (2008) reveals that the most diverse group of advertising names features car brands, which corresponds with the significant role that cars play in American linguaculture in general and in S. King’s oeuvre in particular.
