description Significant improvements have been made in recent years in the field of submarine outfall construction technology. Such an advancement resulted in structural improvements of submarine outfalls, especially with regard to diffuser pipes, risers, and ports. The paper focuses on the modelling of one part of submarine outfall, namely the diffuser pipes made of various materials, and on the effects of their surroundings (internal and external flows). The fluid structure interaction technique is applied in the analyses. The analyses conducted in the paper show that the highest stress values are obtained in the pipe-riser connections. Highest displacements are observed when wave load is axially applied on the structure.
