Description
Summary:The article deals with the features of lipid metabolism in patients with type 2 diabetes - the carriers of different genotypes of paraoxonase 1 gene. Known that the enzyme paraoxonase 1 (PON1) plays a key role in the regulation of lipid peroxidation and its activity is genetically determined. The investigation revealed that the PON1 gene's polymorphic variants may determine the formation of atherogenic changes in lipid profile in patients with diabetes mellitus (DM) type 2.
