description | Background and Aim: Social interest is one of the concepts used to measure a person's relationship with other people. Social interest means a sense of belonging and interaction with others. This study was a comparison of social interest of borderline with their normal counterparts in Mashhad. Methods: The present study was a causal-comparative study. The statistical population of the study was borderline studying in normal schools in Mashhad. The sample of this study includes 145 students including 73 normal students (27 boys and 46 girls) and 72 borderline students (26 boys 46) Selected as available. The Social Interest Scale for Iranian Children (SISIC) was used to assess students' social interest. Multivariate analysis of variance was also used to analyze the data. Results: The analysis of the findings showed that among late learners and normal students in the total score of the scale and subscales of social interest, including responsibility - homework, communication with people-empathy, courage and confidence, a sense of equality versus inferiority-Superiority of the difference There was a statistically significant difference (p <0.001). Conclusion: Borderline students are weaker in terms of social interest than regular students. These results suggest the need to pay more attention to social interest in borderline students. |
