Description
Summary:This article analyzes the publication of abstracts from Federal Institutes (FI) published in the annual meetings of the Brazilian Society for the Advancement of Science (SBPC, in Portuguese) from 2008 to 2013. It characterizes this participation based on the following variables: number of works by FIs; year; number of authors in each work; information on the main authors; area and area of knowledge in which the publication belongs . The survey shows that most publications of Federal Institutes in SBPC have students from the North and Northeast regions as main authors. Also, as they are mostly in the educational area, they represent an important increase in publications of undergraduate research studies.
