Summary: | Purpose: We evaluated the results of the Lindgren-Turan operation in the treatment of halluxvalgus. Methods: 24 feet of 18 patients were operated by the Lindgren-Turan osteotomy. Radiological, functional and pain assessments were applied to all patients. Results: Treatment produced a statistically highly significant difference in the hallux valgusangle and 1.-2.intermetatarsal angle (p<0.001, p<0.001; respectively). Visual analog scale valuesshowed an overall decrease from 6.5±1.19 to 2.0±1.96 following treatment, and there was astatistically highly significant difference in the visual analog scale values (p<0.001). There was a statistically significant difference in the American Orthopaedic Foot-Ankle SocietyScore before the operations (39.2±14.1) and after the follow-up of (87.1±6.2) (p>0.001). Themean subjective evaluations of the patients were 8.43±0.72.Conclusion: We conclude that Lindgren-Turan osteotomy which revealed successful results onpain, deformity correction and bone healing and also provided high personal satisfaction, is areliable technique in the surgical correction of hallux valgus
