| description | This article emphasizes how we can improve the practice of conflict transformation by peaceful means if we take into account the contribution and participation of women. The article reviews the traditional image society has of women, in order to deconstruct and then reconstruct this image with the purpose of establishing a new identity of an active, politically committed woman. To this end, the paper explores aspects of conflict transformation which would be improved if we took women’s experience and knowledge into consideration. Finally, the article suggests that this experience and knowledge would help facilitate both the construction of a culture for peace and the transformation of human suffering by peaceful means. |
