effects of climate variables on transient crop yields in the province of Los Ríos, Ecuador. Temperature and precipitation were analyzed based on historical
series from 1981-2015, current series (2016-2019) and projections (2019-2050). ArcGis 10,3
soware was used to measure the climatic variability of these parameters. Vulnerability analysis
considered production under the effect of weather conditions. Results indicate that the average
multi-year temperature variation is 25,86 °C and the precipitation is 2 202.83 mm, what favored
the production of 5 225 kg ha -1 of maize, 3 076.8 kg ha -1 rice and 1 147 kg ha -1 of soybeans.
According to climate projections for 2016-2050, an increase of 1.07 ° C in the temperature
variable and decrease in precipitation (303 mm) which will generate a decrease in crop yields in
29; 27 and 24 % for corn, rice and soy respectively. |
