Description
Summary:Józef Bielawski, Franciszek Bohomolec, and Tadeusz Lipski were the first Polish professional comedy writers. In a strange twist of history, the places where all three were buried are not marked by tombstones. The death records published here are, therefore, a chance to remind us about the three individuals that were so important for Polish theater. The discovery of Bielawski’s death record is particularly important, because the date of his death has not been known so far. The documents are prefaced with a short introduction that discusses the posthumous history of the three comedy writers.
