Description
Summary:Energy storage systems are utilized to enhance energy security and improve photovoltaic (PV) system performance. The energy storage systems can be coupled at the rear surface of a PV panel in order to cool the panel and maintain its high efficiency. The latent heat storage can be enhanced through nanoparticles in phase change materials for storing thermal energy. This study presents bibliometric and thematic analysis of PV cooling systems coupled with an energy storage system for publication trends, prominent authors, countries, affiliations, most cited articles, sources, and keywords in this field over the last decade. In this study, 307 articles are found in the Scopus database for the period of 2011-2022. The co-occurrence keywords analysis by VOSviewer software and theme-based analysis utilizing SciMAT tools to prioritize future areas of research. The results show that the number of publications per year rapidly increases after 2016 in this field and annual average citation is relatively almost constant from 2013-2021. The countries like China, USA, Iran, and India are the leading contributors to this research area in terms of overall publications and citations. The keywords like phase change material, thermal storage system, and nanofluids are some high-frequency keywords. The results obtained from the assessment are mapped thematically to the current and future themes. The findings of the present research could be used as a comprehensive strategy for the PV cooling system coupled with an energy storage system in order to support future researchers in conducting in-depth research.
