Summary:The paper deals with the linguistic picture of the word home in the Croatian, Polish and Russian languages. The examples were contrasted by means of semantic and pragmatic analysis in Croatian, the Polish and Russian dictionaries. The Croatian word domovina (homeland) means “larger home place”, Polish homeland is called “fatherland” (ojczyzna) and the Russian linguistic picture of homeland means “the land of relatives” (rodina).
