description For the hypoid gear, there is distortion in the heat treatment process, and the quality of the contact zone after heat treatment is poor. A method to analyze the contact zone offset by using the first-order relative tooth surface error of the main tooth is proposed. Through the experimental research, the influence law of the relative helical angular error of the main tooth on the contact zone offset is obtained, and the correctness of the contact zone offset principle is verified. At the same time, the contact deformation principle and the heat treatment deformation law are used to compensate the heat treatment deformation in the cutting stage, and a new cutting tooth model is obtained for production. The results show that the tooth surface error after heat treatment is within the standard range by this method, and the quality of the contact zone after heat treatment is also controlled.
