Summary: | Two products consumed in Ancient Egypt occupy a particular place: wine and perfumes, marker of elite, characteristic of religious feasts, of happiness and pleasures. Incense and ointments symbolizing luxury and exotism are vectors of divinity. Through archeological witnesses and the images bequeathed by Egyptians on their monuments, the purpose of this article is to redraw history of these products’ use from the 4th millennium. The oldest representation of tree acclimation could be as old as Scorpio’s reign. |
