Consideration of reducing purchased power using photovoltaic excess power by thermal radiative cooling/heating system

The photovoltaic (PV) in general households has increased rapidly in Japan, where one of the causes is a start of Feed-in Tariff (FIT). description The photovoltaic (PV) in general households has increased rapidly in Japan, where one of the causes is a start of Feed-in Tariff (FIT). However, after a term of FIT, a selling price will be much lower than that during the term. Therefore, utilizing PV power effectively in general households should be considered. Self-consumption of PV power is one of the effective utilization methods. Power consumption of load equipment in the households should be controlled for self-consumption of PV power which easily changes with time according to weather condition. In this paper, the thermal radiative cooling/heating system, which has a characteristic of heat storage is considered as one of the controllable equipment. The simulation model shows the thermal radiative cooling/heating system can reduce the purchased power with maintaining the room temperature using PV excess power.
