Summary:Business operation and structure of enterprises in the country are significant to observe and plan their business activities. Annual financial statements of enterprises and cooperatives in the Republic of Serbia are the source of financial indicators, the total number of enterprises, number of employees, realized turnover and size of enterprises (small, medium and large). The characteristics are defined as follows: Number of employees as the average calculated on the basis of the situation at the end of every month in the reference year. Realized turnover as income from sales (both goods and products and services). This paper presents the mentioned selected indicators for the Republic of Serbia for the period 2006-2013. Covered is the non-financial sector according to SNA methodology (System of National Accounts). It should be mentioned that the institution responsible for the collection and processing of financial statements was formerly the National Bank of Serbia, and since 2009 the Business Register Agency. .
