Description
Summary:The article analyses the Norwegian military contribution to Iraq initiated in 2015 from the perspective of international law regulating military operations on foreign soil. It argues that this military operation is distinguished from other Norwegian military expeditions in recent decades. The article draws attention to three challenges that consequently arise: a low level of clarity concerning the nature and scope of the assignment, lack of legal guarantees calibrated to the tasks of the soldiers and finally poor efficiency resulting from a precarious legal situation.
