Summary:Background. The high efficiency of the use of automated control systems for abrasive processing in mass and large-scale production makes it possible to increase productivity up to 70%, as well as to increase the metal removal rate by 30-50% while stabilizing the quality and geometric parameters of processing. Electric drives used in CNC machines consume a significant amount of energy, so energy costs must be taken into account when choosing them. Estimation of energy consumption requires studying the parameters of the operation of the feed electric drive and the main movement and obtaining information about the current values of technological modes at a certain load. Materials and methods. When determining the coefficients of performance (COP), carried out when assessing the energy efficiency of CNC machines, methods of direct and indirect power measurement were used. Results. It has been established that the higher the efficiency value, the lower the losses and power consumption of the electric motor and the higher its energy efficiency, the less the motor consumes energy, heats up less, it has a longer service life, which leads to an increase in the MTBF. Conclusions. It is recommended to use IE3 energy efficiency class motors in CNC grinders, because they can operate without feedback with an open-loop control system and with positioning devices. This will save on feedback, which is also an undoubted advantage.
