Summary:Social acceptance is considered as a very important phenomenon in the development of renewable energy projects and the accomplishment of the energy policy goals. The aim of this research is to explore the determinants of community acceptance of renewable energy technologies while focusing on consumer orientation towards these projects. A qualitative study based on a semantic analysis and a deductive approach is used to study the determinants of the phenomenon in question. This research paper concludes with the importance for more systematic studies about the phenomenon of community acceptance based on pertinent theoretical background depicted from psychology, social sciences, precise definitions, and a focusing emphasis on symbolic and emotional aspects.
