By parenthetical clause we <br /> mean one or couple of seemingly irrelevant sentences used among a series <br /> of coherent sentences in the Quran in order to ward off a supposed question. <br /> This kind of clause in the Quran cannot be considered redundant: rather they <br /> have been expressed in their most proper position and can be quite <br /> meaningful in the context. By identifying this style of expression in the <br /> Quran, it becomes much easier to understand the messages included in it <br /> and all clauses seem to be so well- coordinated, that when omitted from the <br /> context, the intended concept is lost. Therefore, all the clauses of the Quran <br /> are composed in a regular pattern and are void of any confusion. In this <br /> essay the author tries to briefly allude the importance of this style and its <br /> function in Arabic literature and then examines the rhetorical points in some <br /> of the parenthetical clauses in the Quran, disclosing some of the miraculous <br /> aspects of it. |
