Summary: | The effect of polishing and grinding process on the vibration and noise of gear is investigated based on comparative experiments. The test objects are one pair of polishing grinding gear and one pair of conventional grinding gear. Before the test, the profile and roughness of the two gear pairs are detected to obtain the micro-profile characteristics of the tooth surface. After that, the gear running test is carried out with the two gear pairs. The vibration and noise data are collected at different speeds, and Matlab is used to process the test data to obtain the frequency spectrum and noise variation trend. Based on the surface morphology of the two gear pairs, the influence of polishing and grinding process on the vibration and noise of the gear is analyzed and discussed. From the frequency spectrum comparison, the vibration acceleration of polished grinding gear is obviously lower than that of conventional grinding gear. According to the comparison of noise results, the noise of polished grinding gear is slightly lower than that of conventional grinding gear at 300~600 r/min. The sound of both gear pairs increased slowly at 700~1 000 r/min. In the range of 1 100~1 400 r/min, the vibration noise of conventional grinding gear increases faster than that of polished grinding gear.
