| Summary: | The article presents the application of cluster analysis in solving practical problems
in medicine. It can be used to detect models in the spatial or temporal distribution of
a particular disease. Determining the location of spatial clusters is important when
an epidemic of a disease occurs and can often provide guidance on what can cause
it. The advantage of using cluster analysis in a GIS environment is that cluster
mapping tools allow visualization of cluster locations.
In this paper, we focus on studying the clustering method that has been applied to
datasets of a neurological disease. A database on the epidemiology of hereditary
neuropathies in Bulgaria was used. |
