Description
Summary:Waste management (potentially hazardous to the environment), which is generated by companies operating in various industries, records pioneering steps on the development path of the republic of Serbia towards the European Union. The work is derived from the analysis of the example of a return logistics model that ensures steady growth for family companies that possess awareness of environmental protection and the possibilities of continued usage of already used resources. By reviewing the literature, a logical conclusion is drawn that a significant part of the business activity in family companies is, at least in one part, linked to return logistics, with finding ways to effectively use products at the end of the life cycle to achieve even better sales results. More precisely, the paper analyses existing examples and models of return logistics in family companies, which could be considered as a successful model for designing sustainable organizations. Preconditions (restrictions) for successful implementation of the return logistics model in family companies were identified, and the most influential factors are the industry in which the company operates and the decisions of the company's owners as the main decision maker. The specificities of family companies were identified in terms of maximum utilization of reverse logistics potential, avoiding the limitations of large (nonfamily) companies.
