Analysis of the application of multi-criteria methods in optimizing the selection of hydraulic excavators on open-cast coal mining

Hydraulic excavators are used in different areas of industry, most often in construction and mining. On open-cast coal mines with continuous systems, they are classified as auxiliary machinery, while on opencast coal mines with discontinuous systems they are basic machinery. As their application is...

description Hydraulic excavators are used in different areas of industry, most often in construction and mining. On open-cast coal mines with continuous systems, they are classified as auxiliary machinery, while on opencast coal mines with discontinuous systems they are basic machinery. As their application is necessary in both cases, it is important to carry out an adequate analysis of the existing data in order to optimize the choice of the type of hydraulic excavator in relation to the working conditions of a particular opencast mine. This paper aims to demonstrate the potential of multi-criteria optimization methods that are used in the analysis of hydraulic excavators. Different multi-criteria methods used for the analysis of hydraulic excavators are described. All advantages and disadvantages of these methods are presented, as well as the quality of output information which can affect the future purchasing decisions of this machinery
